Choir Director

Orlena Ruiz, VYMA Music Project Choir Director

Orlena Ruiz was born in Venezuela where she began her early music studies in piano, violin and voice. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (Music Education) at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music and a Master’s Degree in Arts (Music Education) at New York University.  Her training includes Bel Canto, Kodaly (certified at Level 2, currently completing Level 3) and Orff-Schulwerk. Very early, Orlena found her true passion to be in teaching. She brings an energetic enthusiasm in instilling a love of music in children.
