Four orchestras and over 300 musicians came together Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Pasadena City College to mark the first Youth Orchestra Day as annointed by the Los Angeles City Council and Mayor Bill Bogaard of Pasadena.

The day honored four youth orchestras who conceived and organized the event. Participating orchestras included the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra (conductor Russell Steinberg), the Pasadena Young Musicians Orchestra (conductor Jo Stoup), VYMA’s Youth Orchestra (conductor Samvel Chilingarian), and the Olympia Youth Orchestra (conductor Fung Ho). Their inspiration? A new spirit of cooperation and creativity to make great music together!
