VYMA Audition Requirements:

Scales: Please prepare one scale of your choice. Show us what you can do! Solo piece: Play a piece of your choice that best displays your accomplishments on your instrument.Each audition is about five minutes long, so we may stop you in the middle of your piece. (It is not a comment on your playing!) We know auditions can be intimidating but we are on your side and we want you to do your best. Hints for playing a good audition:

Be well prepared.
Come early enough to warm up before you play.
Remember to show us all your skills. If you are learning vibrato use it and exaggerate your dynamics.
Take a deep breath and slow yourself down.
Play a pretend audition for your friends so you will be more comfortable at the real audition.
