Stephen Green

Stephen Green studied at McGill University (Bachelor of Music), University of Toronto (Masters of Music), and with renowned French cellist, André Navarra at both the Nordwestdeutsche Musikakademie, Detmold, Germany and Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Siena, Italy (Diploma d’Honore).  He has performed in a wide variety of musical environments including recitals, operas, ballets, symphony and chamber orchestras as well as theatre and chamber groups.

Stephen recently arrived from Toronto where he lived for eight years, playing in the orchestra for Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and Beauty and the Beast, along with other freelance activities.

Before that Stephen lived in New York City where he played with Solisti New York under Ransom Wilson as well as with many other chamber, symphony and choral groups.

Since moving to southern California, Stephen’s credits include working with the Long Beach and Pasadena symphonies, among others. In theatre, he has played many shows, including Cats, the King and I, Guys and Dolls, Peter Pan, Annie, and four productions of The Last Five Years.

Stephen enjoys teaching and is very pleased to be working with The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra and the Verdugo Young Musicians Association. He is happily married to actress/dramaturg/director Elise Dewsberry and they have a beautiful daughter named Rebecca Rose, who recently graduated from UC Berkeley!

 

Ginger Murphy

This Chicago native received a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from Northwestern University.  In Los Angeles, she is an active freelance cellist performing with many classical ensembles including the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, and the Riverside Philharmonic.  She also performs with many non-traditional groups including her fusion string quartet “Thread” and Pablo Motta’s Los Angeles Tango Quartet.  As a session musician, she has recorded music for film and tv, and has shared the stage with such diverse artists as Josh Groban, Stevie Wonder, Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mos Def, Common, P. Diddy, Rihanna, Barry Manilow, Leona Lewis, Yellowcard, Pepe Aguilar, Joan Sebastian, Rosemary Clooney, Bill Conti, Daniel Barenboim, Lynn Harrell, Olivia Newton-John, Michael Buble, and Alanis Morisette.  In her Glendale teaching studio, her students have been competition winners, soloing with various orchestras, including the Glendale Youth Symphony.

Garik Terzian

Mr. Terzian was born in Yerevan, Armenia and began to study cello at the age of six with his father in former Chekoslovakia. Mr. Terzian continued his music education at Babadjanian college of music, followed by the Yerevan State Conservatory until moving to United States. Awarded a merit scholarship from the University of Southern California and USC Friends of Armenian Music, he continued his education at USC’s Thornton School of Music under the direction of distinguished professor Ronald Leonard, where he received Master of Music Degree in Cello Performance.

Mr. Terzian has performed extensively throughout the former Soviet Union, United States, Mexico, Spain, Ireland and Czech Republic. He has frequently appeared as a soloist with various orchestras including Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Chihuahua Symphony Orchestra, Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra and New Valley Symphony Orchestra. Mr.Terzian has performed in the Aram Khachaturian Music Festival in Spain and the Chamber Music Festival in Dublin, Ireland. He is the First Place winner of the Young Musicians Competition and Armenian Philharmonic Concerto Competition both in Yerevan, Armenia.

Mr. Terzian has made numerous recordings for Television and Radio Stations in the former Soviet Union, United States and Mexico. He has been featured in live radio broadcasts on KUSC “Sundays at Four”, Los Angeles.

In addition to his solo activities, Mr. Terzian is also a devoted teacher. He is a faculty member at the Amuse Palos Verdes Music Center in Palos Verdes, California.
