Cindy L. Deane has a Master’s of Music degree in Horn Performance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music cum laude, in Horn Performance from the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music. Her primary teachers have included Brian O’Conner, Lowell Greer, Dr. James Winter, Dr. George Nemeth, and Susan Carroll. Cindy has taught and coached in schools and various youth symphonies for over 20 years, including the Everett Youth Symphony and Seattle Youth Symphony in Seattle, WA area. Some of Cindy’s first students have gone on to have successful music careers and be accepted to prestige music schools such as, Eastman, UCLA, and USC. Cindy is relatively new to the Southern California area. Locally she has performed with New Valley Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Santa Barbara Choral Orchestra, and Pasadena Community Orchestra. Cindy freelanced previously in Seattle, San Francisco Bay area, and Ann Arbor. In Seattle, she performed regular chamber concerts with Ladies Musical Club, and her own group, Convergence Chamber Players. She worked with Seattle’s Symphony on Wheels, doing brass demos in the schools. She has enjoyed performing a wide array of chamber music and has been heard in various other settings out of the norm of classical music including Big Bands, Latin/Salsa and pop/rock music.
